Dataprotection
For the purpose of this Data Protection Declaration, the Universität der Bundeswehr München complies with the obligation to inform the university website users on type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of data.

Personal data are held on the web server of the university (www.unibw.de) only to the extent that is technically necessary. Data processing is subject to applicable data protection regulations, in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

This is to inform you about type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data.

How do we collect your data?
One way we collect your data is by processing the information you send us. This can be data, for example, that you include in a contact form. Other data is collected automatically by means of our IT systems when you visit our website. This is mainly technical data (e.g. web browser, operating system or time of page view). This data is collected automatically as soon you visit our website (see "Data Recording").

For what purposes do we use your data?
Some of the data is collected in order to ensure that our website works correctly.

What rights do you have with regards to your data?
You are entitled to receive information free of charge at any time about the source and recipients of your stored personal data and about the purpose of storing it. You also have the right to ask for this data to be corrected, blocked or deleted. If you have any questions about your rights or about any other matters concerning data protection, you can contact us at any time at the address specified in the imprint. You are also entitled to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. Many data processing procedures are only possible with your explicit consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Informal notification of this can be sent to us by e-mail. The withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Personnel in charge
For contact details of the person in charge within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation as well as of the Data Protection Commissioner and the Administrative Data Protection Manager of the Universität der Bundeswehr München, please refer to the Imprint.

Handling contact data / contact approaches
If you contact the website operator using the options available (e.g. contact form), your details will be stored for a period of six months so that they can be accessed for the purpose of processing and responding to your request and in case there are additional questions. This data will not be forwarded to third parties without your consent.

Data protection regarding job applications and the application process
The person responsible for processing data collects and processes the personal data of applicants for the purpose of completing the application process. The data can also be processed electronically. This is particularly the case when an applicant forwards the relevant application documents electronically, e.g. by e-mail or via a web form available on the website. If the personnel department concludes an employment contract with an applicant, the forwarded data will be stored for purposes related to the candidate's employment, with due account being given to the legal requirements. If no employment contract is concluded with the applicant, the application documents will be deleted automatically six months after notification of the decision to reject the application, provided no other agreement has been made to keep the data for subsequent procedures and no legitimate interests on the part of the person responsible for processing the data preclude the data from being deleted. In the case of applications, for example, there is a legitimate interest in saving data beyond the six-month period for use as evidence in settling disputes.
